LeVelle Moton

LeVelle Moton was raised in Raleigh, NC and is passionate about supporting marginalized communities to promote eradication of intergenerational poverty. LeVelle is a key public figure, decorated basketball coach, motivational speaker, philanthropist, community engagement and outreach trailblazer.  In recognition of his momentous philanthropic efforts, the City of Raleigh dedicated the LeVelle Moton Park in his honor.

LeVelle is the CEO and Founder the Velle Cares Foundation which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to serve and assist community-based organizations that promote health, education, and life skills for children and families in at risk situations. Each year, Moton, hosts annual events such as the “Back to School Community Day Event” and the “Single Mother’s Salute” amongst others to enrich and give back his community. The “Back to School Community Day Event” is hosted at the Raleigh Boys & Girls Club. The event serves over 700 kids and families each year by providing them with book bags, school supplies, giveaways, shoes, haircuts, and Entertainment.

LeVelle is a graduate of North Carolina Central University (NCCU) where he earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  Later he became the Head Coach at NCCU where he won 8 championships, 11 coach of the year awards, and a USA gold medal. LeVelle continues to excel on and off the court by achieving desired community and business outcomes and committing to supporting the Raleigh Raised Development mission and vision.

LeVelle and Bridget have been married for over 14 years. They have two children, Brooke and LeVelle Jr.
